DESCRIPTION: A fairly common grass bug that reaches a length of up to 8mm. To recognise this bug is quite simple with the combination of rosy red streaks and green background to the forewings, the black line that runs down the centre of the scutellum and the rose tinged legs all making for an easily recognised and quite attractive specimen. DISTRIBUTION: Widely distributed throughout the UK. HABITAT: Found in dry grasslands where the larvae feed on a range of composites such as bird's foot trefoil, restharrow, salad burnet and kidney vetch. PERIOD: June to August.
